Blog Topics that are Against Google Adsense

Google Adsense is one of the biggest contextual ad network in the industry and no wonder almost all beginners in the blogging arena always aim to get their blogs monetized by this high paying ad service from Google. But getting to it is not a very easy job and there are certain blog topics which Google Adsense doesn’t include in their inventory, which means, you cannot display Adsense ads on blogs which cover these topics. Let’s discuss about them one by one.

First of all, before you begin blogging, if your main aim is adsense, then make sure you don’t blog on the below mentioned topics and secondly, if you are already approved by adsense, then make sure you don’t put your ad codes on blogs with below mentioned niche.

Topics which are against Google Adsense

1. Adult

That’s right. Adsense is a family-safe ad platform and hence, although it is one of the biggest chunk of online industry, adult websites are a big NO for adsense. Adult websites doesn’t just mean where the general thinking takes you, it means that any site that is not suitable to be viewed by kids is against adsense ToS.

2. Drugs

Yep, this is another topic that you shouldn’t normally consider for blogging. Adsense is prohibited on websites that have got drug related content, illegal or prescribed, that are addictive in nature. Also included in the list are alcohol or tobacco related websites.

3. Hacking

Yes, this is also against adsense ToS. Ethical hacking or illegal, it just doesn’t go well with adsense. Usually, beginners get attracted to this particular niche where they distribute cracks for softwares. This is against adsense mainly because you are illegally distributing paid softwares for free and causing a loss to the original developer. Yeah, don’t forget other hacking stuff. Hacking is just not the word to blog about.

4. Pay-To and Gambling

If you have got a pay to click site that pays users for clicking on ads, browse pages, read emails or something like this, then adsense is just not for you. And if your site is about gambling, exchange of money or prizes, this also gets in the way for adsense ToS.

5. Copyrighted Content

You copied something from some other website and pasted it on your own website? That’s strictly against blogging ethics and strictly against adsense too. No copyrighted content is allowed on adsense networked blogs. Copyrighted content also includes, but not limited to, music, videos and ebooks.

6. Hate-Content, Violence and Weapons

Even these are banned by adsense network. You can’t put adsense ads on sites which have got hate-content or in simple words, which is against an individual, group of people or an organisation. Or which depicts violence like fighting, torture and so on which is not family-safe, and sites which is concentrated on weaponary.

7. Google Brand Features

You cannot copy layout of any google services nor have a domain or your site name as something related to google like, Examples are like ‘Google SEO Experts’ ‘www.googlemaster.com’ and the list goes on.

Well, these are some important blogging niches that are against adsense ToS and not a complete list. However, adsense  isn’t the most important thing to consider in your blogging career. There are tonnes of other ways to monetize your blog in whatever niche it may be. But try to respect others works and maintain legality of your blog and you shouldn’t have any problem in the long run.
